About Us

We are a small permaculture-inspired farm and homestead located in the beautiful mountains of western Maine. Our passion is growing food and building ecosystems. We operate a commercial mushroom cultivation operation providing everything from fresh gourmet mushrooms for our local market to grow kits, cultures, and ready-to-fruit blocks for other farmers and home cultivators. We are passionate about using fungi for food and medicine and teaching others the skills needed to cultivate these amazing organisms.

Our plant nursery is dedicated to growing interesting hardy perennial plants adapted to our cool northern climate. We offer bare-root plants for spring and fall shipping through our website as well as containerized plants for our local community. We propagate a significant number of fruit & nut trees, berry bushes, native plants, as well as species suitable for ecosystem repair, soil building, and riparian zone restoration.

Our permaculture design work is focused largely on whole-farm water management systems and developing permanent perennial woody agro-forestry systems. We offer everything from site visits and design consults, to installation of earthworks and plant materials.
