New Vineyard Maine

Design, Earthworks & Water Systems Development

Our passion for permaculture projects takes us all over the northeastern US. We help people develop and implement permaculture landscape designs, agroforestry systems, food forests, perennial fodder systems, and water harvesting systems. Our experience across many sites with unique needs and challenges combined with our ability to both design and execute earthwork projects can provide you with many options for increasing the fertility, water holding capacity, abundance, and value of your property.

We shape earth to capture and store water, build fertility, and make permanent changes to how your landscape interacts with water. Whether your site is a complete desert or a swamp, we have tools to help. The old adage ‘the problem is the solution’ guides our decision making, working with the shape of the earth to help intensify water where you want it, while keeping it away from areas you don’t.

We develop & install water systems of all types. We can help source water on even the most challenging of landscapes. We install shallow wells, develop springs & seeps, build ponds large & small, design rainwater catchment systems, and install pumps & irrigation systems. We prefer lower-tech passive solutions over high-tech systems with many moving parts as they tend to be more resilient and less likely to fail. We have experience on challenging and remote sites and have many options for moving water ‘off grid’. Whether it’s drinking water for your family or livestock, we’ll help you find it.

We also do more generalized excavation projects throughout central and western Maine. We can clear lots, remove stumps, fix grading issues, dig trenches for utilities, install culverts, driveways, building pads, french drains, & much more. Contact us to find out how we can help with your project.
